THE GAP SHOP

This studio belongs to a CSM student. She said she’s been longing for a shop of “what she wants”. She took a gap year at school and this is where the name comes from, THE GAP SHOP. Inside the studio you can find ceramics she made, vintage shoes she collected, ceramics and glassware she found in different flea markets, art books and magazines she liked, and etc.

1984 BOOKSTORE

The British writer George Orwell describes a totalitarian future world in his novel “1984”, where people’s minds are imprisoned and they lose their ability to think. This bookstore sells independent magazines, other books here are provided only for reading but not selling, aiming to provide readers a quiet and enjoyable reading time. Most of the books here are private collections of the owners, and some of them are donated by their friends and customers. Remember, books here are only for reading, not selling.

Oha Eatery

Walking through the old Anfu Road you’ll see this romantic and boujee café and restaurant. It becomes a bistro at night, with a dark lighting setting and U-shaped dining table. The place is famous for its eastern and western fusion and requires reservations. The owner is from Guizhou but the chef is from New Zealand, that’s why you can experience lots of Guizhou style sauces in the western dishes here. All the dishes you can select are listed on the menu, not too many, but they also offer lunch sets of different price ranges. You can get pork, spicy chicken or mushroom pot at 50 to 60rmb, and also shrimps, sea bass or steak at around 100rmb. Add 10rmb for an appetizer! Dishes here come with multi-grain rice or white bread, and you’ll get a free dessert afterwards.

鸟啸

Oolong tea and wines are must-haves if you eat here! Order edamame or seaweed for appetizer for a little spoiler. The veins in the chicken are removed, so the seemingly lean skewers taste crispy at first bite and soft when you chew, absolutely the best taste of chicken! Don’t order all the skewers at one time, just take it slow and eat three rounds.

Next, it is strongly recommended to order the barbeque rice cakes, as well as salt-baked prawns, and the scallion chicken tights. The chicken wings here are also very delicious.
